Nevada issues additional
COVID Mitigation Measures Effective July 30, 2021
Yesterday, consistent with Emergency Directive 045, Nevada adopted the latest Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) mask guidance, which recommends everyone, regardless of vaccination status, wear a mask or face covering in all indoor public spaces where COVID transmission is high or substantial. This mandate goes into effect at 12:01am on Friday, July 30, 2021.
Currently, 12 of Nevada’s 17 counties have high or substantial transmission of COVID-19 according to the latest data from the CDC. They include Carson City, Churchill, Clark, Douglas, Elko, Esmeralda, Lincoln, Lyon, Mineral, Nye, Washoe, and White Pine counties. Eureka, Humboldt, and Lander counties are listed as having moderate transmission and Pershing and Storey counties are listed as having low transmission.
To give businesses in those counties with high or substantial COVID transmission time to implement the updated mask requirement, Governor Sisolak issued Emergency Directive 047, providing a three-day grace period before the indoor mask mandate goes into effect. While impacted counties have until Friday to implement the latest mask guidance, they are encouraged to adopt the changes as soon as possible.
