NBA AND SUTRO TUNNEL COLLABORATE FOR RESTORATION OF HISTORIC SITEFor the first half of 2023, Nevada Builders Alliance and Friends of Sutro Tunnel Charity worked together to host a community fundraiser for the historic mining site. The ‘Meat and Drink BBQ’ focused on gathering Nevada Builders Alliance members, community members and leaders, elected officials and more at the historic Sutro Tunnel, a 3.8-mile drainage tunnel, to raise funds and awareness of the site. The focus of Friends of Sutro Tunnel Charity is to restore the tunnel, as well as doing site cleanup and protecting its historic buildings. The fundraiser allowed attendees to see the charity’s progress, venture inside the tunnel, enjoy catered food, live music from Carson Chandler and period reenactors. The ‘Meat and Drink BBQ’ brought together multiple sponsors, including Pokrajac Corporation, Bank Saloon and Frey Ranch Distillery. To assist with the restoration process of an old Victorian house on the property, the Nevada Builders Foundation also partnered with the charity.
