Nevada Governors Office of Energy is offering Free Training across Nevada IECC Training

The Nevada Governor’s Office of Energy (GOE) is offering free trainings across Nevada on the 2015 International Energy Conservation Code (IECC) which will go into effect on July 1, 2018. The new codes could affect architects, contractors, engineers, and builders in Nevada. Topics include but are not limited to the building envelope, mechanical systems and electrical power and lighting requirements.

Both residential and commercial aspects are covered in separate sessions in Elko, Las Vegas and Reno, Nevada. The first training is June 13, 2017 at Southwest Gas Corporation, 744 Commercial Street in Elko. The residential provisions part of the training is from 8 a.m. to Noon. The commercial provisions part of the training is from 1 to 5 p.m. See below the list of others.

The course instructor is Eric Makela, who leads Cadmus’ Codes and Standards team and has more than 30 years of building energy codes expertise. Continuing education units are available for architects, engineers, and International Code Council chapter members.
